yet another fucking idiot moderator or a ceo or whatever is ruining the app you like. or maybe youre worried about your data being used to feed ai. or whatever. you wanna pack up and move. but youre fucking tired of doing it literally every goddamn time this happens- you have to convince your mutuals and everyone else to also make an account on shitlr.xyz and not everyone wants that.

solution: the fediverse is a group of social networks all running on the same protocol. they can all talk to each other, everyone gets the kind of social media they want, and nobody has to make a new account* again (unless you really dont like the admin or the ui is not to your taste.)

(*by new account, i mean that most instances have the option to export your entire profile, follows, followers, posts, favorites, etc to another account on another platform- and redirect your old one to your new one. its usually super easy and takes like 5 minutes!!!)

you can start browsing here for your server and ui of your choice. you dont even have to be limited to one- plenty of people have multiple accounts!

at some point tumblr *was* supposed to get federated into this system, but i doubt it'll happen at this rate
